when using dvd drive laptop turns off and on

how do i fix my problem with my dvd drive. I even use an external dvd drive and it does the same

When I use my dvd drive disc spins around but after a few seconds laptop turns off and on. what do I need to do. I use an external dvd drive but same issue.
