We replaced the battery and now the keyboard doesn't work. The flat tape that apparently connects keyboard to the computer pulled out. We stuck it back in but it didn't reseat properly. What is the correct way to reconnect this connection?

There are usually orientation lines on the laptop's connection and on the ribbon cable. Sometimes a flashlight will help to reseat that cable. You might be butting up against something inside of the connector.
