Hello,

Any word on when TiVo will support 802.11g and WPA wireless?

My wireless home network is using 802.11g and WPA. I don't want to
revert my home network to 802.11b and its weak WEP protection.

Both of my TiVo's are Series 2 machines. Right now I have them on their
own 802.11b network running in peer-to-peer mode so I can transfer shows
between them. I sure would like to connect my 2 TiVo's to my home
network but won't until they support 802.11g and WPA.

Has anyone heard if/when TiVo will have 802.11g and WPA support?

Many thanks,
Ted.

I don't know about WPA, but Tivo already supports a couple of 802.11g
adapters with the version 7 upgrade. Check out Tivo's website for which
ones.

Plus, not having WPA isn't necessary the end of the world. Just be MAC
filter your network, and use VPN for your client machines. True,
somebody might be able to sniff into the traffic from your Tivo machines
and sniff what you are recording, but unless it's a lot of porn I don't
think I'd stress about it.
