Which audio jack do i need (turtle beach px11)

I am trying to connect my px11's to my pc, i currently have the usb plugged in and the green cable coming out connected to the speaker jack on the front, i get sound but no mic. and if i plugged the green wire in the mic jack the opposite would occur. Is there a jack in the back of my pc that would get both output and input or am just doing something wrong.

I have had it working in the past so dont tell me to go buy something!

There is no jack which would get you both input and output. The green is speaker/headphone out. That gets the black connector. Then you just plug in the USB.
