Hello everyone,
I'm trying to decide between two gaming laptops. I want one for under 1000 dollars, and that's a firm limit. The two systems are these
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Laptop+with+Intel%26%23174;+Core%26%23153;+i5+Processor+-+Blue/Black/9736955.p?id=1218164036446&skuId=9736955

The price difference is negligible.
I want to play Crysis on high settings. I have researched extensively but I can't find any conclusive evidence of either GPU being better. Which is better, GTX 260m or GTS 360m? And which system is better?

Hello and welcome to the forums :)
The first link doesn't work, but i think its the ASUS G60.
Well GTX 260M performs better than a GTS 360M in games, but G60 has a faster CPU.
So if its strictly for gaming, then go for G72 because of having a better VGA.
Another good alternative would be ASUS G73(check from bestbuy)which costs $1200 and has an i7 CPU + 5870M which performs significantly better than those 2 in games

I would love to know where you saw the G73 for $1200...???

Best buy has it (appropriately so) for $1600.

Most everywhere else has it anywhere from $1600 - $1900.

Best Buy also has a slightly downgraded version for $1200. Only comes with 6gb of RAM, 500gb HDD and a 1600x900 screen. Still a really sweet deal.

The first link is the G60jx. It seems best buy's links don't work when clicked on. Odd.
Anyway, G60jx has Core i5-430m, GTS 360m.
G72gx has Core 2 Duo P8700, GTX 260m.
The GTX is, in your opinion(s), the better of these two? Are there benchmarks on demanding games like Crysis?
I certainly like the look of the G72, but I cannot go over my budget at all, so I'll have to say no to it.

Take a look here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html

Look up the GTX 260M and the GTS 260M. Yes, I did say GTS 260. They don't have any benchmark numbers for the 360, but the GTS 360 is just a rebadged GTS 260 with slightly higher clocks. The GTX 260M also has more CUDA Cores and slightly higher shader and memory speeds as well as a wider memory bus (256 vs 128 bit).

There are no benchmarks for the GTS 260m there either.
The general consensus if the G72?

Hey I just wanted to give some advice on the situation for anyone still in the market and now looking to save some money. The Asus G72GX offers BETTER gaming performance than the Asus G60JX. This is a fact and I have benchmarked the results for myself. I purchased both laptops and did a review of them to help anyone that was trying to choose between the 2. The results are that the G72GX offers better gaming performance than the G60JX. Both Asus laptops are absolutely phenomonal and you won't really notice much difference depending on the game. Some games are more finicky than others so keep that in mind. The G72GX costs around the same price as the G60JX but you're getting a better gaming machine. The Asus G73 is another great laptop but it has many issues and the Asus support isn't too helpful. I know this because I went ahead and purchased this laptop as well to test it. It offers better performance being that the ATI card is better but this comes with some stability problems which Asus has yet to address. For the money, I think the G72GX is the best deal and it also comes headache free.
