So I'm really debating between two laptops to get for college, one that I've configured from CyberpowerPC and another from Sager. I won't be gaming on this laptop since I have my desktop for that, so my main questions are:
- Will I get significantly better battery life from the i5 2520 vs the i7 2630 during non-intensive use?
- Is it worth the extra $ and drop in battery life to go with the Cyberpower and its 256 gb SSD, vs the Sager's 500 gb Momentus hybrid drive?
Basically, which one should I get in terms of a mixture between value, performance and mobility.
The Cyberpower Xplorer X6-7200 specs are: $1303
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM Mobile Processor 2.0 GHz
GPU GT 520M
HDD: 256 GB ADATA S501 V2 SATA III 6.0G/s Gaming MLC Solid State Disk
MEMORY: 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3-1333 SODIMM Memory
SCREEN: 15.6" HD LED-Backlit 1366x768 Display
It's built on the Clevo W251HPQ Gaming Notebook
The Sager NP5160 goes: $1044
CPU Intel i5 5250m 2.5 GHz
GPU GT 540M
HDD 500 GB Seagate Momentus Hybrid Hard Drive with 4 GB SSD
MEM 8 GB (4 GB x 2) DDR3-1333
SCREEN 15.6" HD+ LED-Backlit Display with Matte Finished Surface (1600 x 900)
IC Diamond Thermal Compound
So basically, the Cyberpower has a quad core cpu vs the Sager's dual core, and an SSD vs the Sager's HDD, but the Sager has a better gpu, a higher res screen, a better thermal compound, and it costs $250 less. Also, the Sager's cpu sucks less power. Which one would you choose and why? Pro's and con's would be appreciated, please. Thank you!
