which laptop should I buy?

Hi.

I have to find a laptop for study and some medium gaming. I have found two both asus. the first have a i5-3337u and gt 720m. the other have A10-5750m and hd 8670m. In other aspect they are similar and they both have 8 gb ddr3 sdram. The AMD CPU seems to be better than the i5 in term of performance, but if the GPU is the bottleneck for both laptops I would prefer the i5 that use less energy. The gt 720m seems to be better than the 8670m so should i go for the better GPU or the better CPU? they cost the same.

I wouldn't expect "medium" gaming from either of these really. But overall I'd go with the Intel/nvidia set-up. As far as processors go the intel one has much better performance per core, and even though it only has two touted physical cores, it'll bring better performance as opposed to the quad core apu

The 8670 on-board is slightly less progressive than the dedicated low profile gt 720

Yep, the i5 will outperform the A10 in every real world scenario. The Intel/Nvidia combo is the winner hands down.

Well maybe only light gaming, but both gpu's are dedicated 2gb. would the intelsetup be better due to the better gpu?

hello there im extremely dissapointed in AMD's mobile graphics now there desktop graphics cards are awesome, the a10 is AMD's best mobile processor they offer, im not sure if that I5 is dual or quad core but still i would go with the intel setup myself hope this helps
