So with my $1000 budget, im thinking of either the Asus ROG Strix GL753VD or the Asus FX502VM. Both are $999, here are specs.
Asus Fx502vm:
CPU Intel Core i7-6700HQ (4-core, 2.60-3.50 GHz, 6MB cache)
RAM 8GB (1x 8096MB) – DDR4, 2133MHz
GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3GB GDDR5)
HDD/SSD 1TB HDD (5400 rpm)
Display 15.6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) TN, matte

Asus ROG Strix GL753VD:
Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor 2.80GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5
16GB DDR4-2400 RAM
1TB 7,200RPM Hard Drive
Display- 17.3" (1920x1080)

Both are pretty similar but the 1060 outperforms the 1050 ti quite a bit it seems. The build quality on the GL is better it seems, but im leaning towards the FX i think. Thoughts?

The fx is a better laptop spec wise. Do you know what the cooling is like on that laptop as the rog series is generally has good cooling. I would check the screen quality of the fx just to make sure you are ok with a tn panel.
