I have to decide which laptop to get. It’s between a Lenovo Y520 i7 7700HQ With GTX 1050Ti 4GB vs Asus i5 8250U with GTMX940, or to wait for the new i7 8750H processor, but it is not known when will be available and the deal at Bhphotovideo for $799 expires today?

Lenovo Y520 has:

Asus S510UQ

1TB SATA 5400RPM
without SSD
without Windows

weight 1.7 kg
with 24 month waranty
$ 734 from Bulgaria

Lenovo Legion Y520

According to resquecom the build quality of Lenovo laptop is superior to Asus laptops?

Solution
I would rule out the ASUS if only because they decided to mix old GPU tech with a shiny new CPU.

Y520 is certainly the better value for money. Quad core CPU with hyperthreading, fastest GPU here, and an SSD.

The first option has the best specs (CPU, GPU, SSD) at a very good price. Much faster than the second option (8250u) for only a little more money. And agree with the the other comment that 940MX is old and way slower than the 1050Ti.
