Which laptop to buy?

Hello,
I'm planning to buy a laptop in near future so far i've these 2 models on my mind please advice which to buy

1) Dell inspiron 15r
2nd gen core i3 2310m 2.1GHz dual core processor
3GB RAM
Nvidia geforce gt 525m card with 1GB Memory

2)Inspiron 15r
core i5 480m processor 2.66GHz turbo boost upto 2.93GHz
4GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 550v with 1GB Memory

Primary use will be gaming (crysis2, CoD:black ops, mafia2, etc) i'm prepared to play at medium settings
Also since i'm on a shoestring budget here will core i3 suffice?

I have a laptop and its Acer. With your choices above, I like Inspiron 15r. Its a good one. 😉

Of the CPUs the i5 480m is a slightly better option than the Core i3 2310M Sandy Bridge.
Of the GPUs the GT 525M has the advantage over the HD 550V.
I would say the Core i3 2310M /GT 525M combo best supports your goal of medium settings in the games you mention.

Unless you're in a really hurry you'll want to pay attention to the front page news on the THG site on Tuesday.
We haven't seen the benchmarks of the Llano APUs yet but they should be of interest to you since you're on a tight budget.
Best guess I've seen so far is that the integrated graphics on the Llano is going to fall right between the HD 550V and GT 525M.

I happen to chance upon another one from acer
Acer Aspire 5742G
Core i5 430m
3GB RAM
nVIDIA GT 420 with 1 GB memory
I've made up my mind to buy the acer one, one question i have is my previous laptop was a dell inspiron 6400 bought in 06, i never had a problem with it except of course battery change, can the same be said about acer? I read on some forums that "one should avoid acer like a plague" please guide
