which laptop would be better for gaming? urgent

i have shortlisted two laptops for some gaming and other normal usage(videos and coding).
HP Pavilion 15-AB221TX
Intel Core i5-5200U 2.2ghz
8gb ddr3 ram
2gb NVIDIA GeForce 940M
15.6in 1920x1080

HP Pavilion 15-AB219TX
the other one has the same specs but with a 1366x786 display. i have been reading that a 1080p display would not be useful with this graphic card. please advice as to which one to buy. the laptop would also be used for coding and watching videos.
the games would be of the likes of bf4, far cry 4, the witcher 3 etc.
the price difference is roughly $60.

yes with a mid-low end gpu. lower resolution for better game play.
coding? higher resolution help. you can see more.

You could get the 1080p one and when you game lower the screen resolution.
