Which of these laptops would you pick and why? Price is about the same. What are the advantages and disadvantages with getting either one? Like battery life, performance, longevity(how long it will stay "current"), gaming ect.

Solution
I would say i5 is deffly faster than A10, which is equivalent to an i3, but your not missing out much unless you do some very CPU intensive tasks.

However, HD 7670m is faster than GT630m on the A10 laptop. Therefore, gaming would BE BETTER. Couple that with hybrid crossfire(HD 7660g+7670m), you could get some very solid performance around Mobility HD 5850(Estimate). The problem with hybrid crossfire last gen is that there was a huge leap in performance between the discrete and the integrated; however, hd 7670m is only a bit faster(well, there is a huge ditch but it isn't a canyon anymore) than 7660g so stuttering would hopefully be minimized.

I heard that load temperature was around 70C for A10-4600m with discrete graphic card from...
Trinity. seemed a lot reasonable performance-wise for my needs (HD videos and low-end gaming at best). i can't recall the review on trinity awhile ago, but i'm assuming the lower performance compared to the i5, and my past impression of Llano's low-power, and low temps CPU would mean less heat related damage, and longer battery life.

do NOT take my word for it. it's better that you go read the reviews yourself. and different laptop manufacturer's may have better cooling, or build quality than others.

I heard that load temperature was around 70C for A10-4600m with discrete graphic card from NBR which is WAY better than the core i5 mobile considering my computer would shoot up to 90C on CIV 4 while using integrated.(Not sure about your i5, but it may be hotter given ivy's records)

:hello: tl;dr
trinity A10-4600m computer: Better graphics via crossfire or just using the discrete card, cooler temperature(people can game on their lap), battery life?, backlit keyboard 😀

core i5-3XXX: Better CPU intensive performance, battery life?, back lit keyboard 😀

My 2 cent: I would recommend A10 as CPU perfomance isn't quite noticeable and on some intensive application like photoshop and cyberlink, AMD's Opencl can boost performance(Though i don't know how much, maybe even past i5). Gaming is noticeable and the temp leads to longer comp life. AND ITS PROLLY CHEAPER

Yes it is definitely better for gaming. My main question was is it going to seem sluggish and what not which I have used it now and it is not. The A10 with 7670m is a much better combo.
