Which lens to get?

torn between the canon 17-55mm f/2.8 and the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 - similar price. would love the Canon 24-70mm f.2.8 but too expensive for me.

Without any doubt, get the Tamron. It is far superior than the canon one.

why dont you buy a nifty fifty instead? it's very cheap.As a professional I always use a 50mm even in my 5d eos m3 or even in my c100. that's the best you can get
