Hi all,
Sorry for being a noob and asking another one of those "which one is better" questions. I am planning on buying a new "casual gaming" laptop for around $1500 or less (even better). I have come down to my top two picks, but I really couldn't tell which is a better choice even after two weeks of research:
MSI Computer 17.3-Inch Laptop GS70 STEALTH-608:

Lenovo Y70 Touch - 80DU00DNU:

Here's what I expect. I have had a great experience with Lenovo before, owned a Y580 for three years (cost only $813 back then on Amazon) prior to giving it to a relative just a month ago. I liked the performance (no duh, a GTX660M paired to an i7-3630QM is no slouch) and the sound, which wasn't amazing, but it was exceptional (it only lacked a subwoofer). I would always be comparing to the Y580. The only thing bad about it was the 5400 RPM HDD and the 6GB RAM was so-so.
Here's what I think of the two I am considering:
Lenovo Y70:
-older processor? i7-4720HQ, less powerful?
-more VRAM 4GB, but not as powerful?
-512GB SSD
-JBL speakers; I may be biased toward the branding (the JBL on my previous laptop was nice and the JBL setup in my car is superb), but haven't tried others, so I don't know.
-touch screen
-external DVD drive included
MSI GS70 Stealth 608:
-newer processor? i7-5700HQ; perhaps stronger?
-stronger GPU; less VRAM GTX965M
-128GB SSD + 1TB 7200RPM (more storage)
-Dyanudio speakers; good?
-no touch screen
-no DVD drive
Wrap-up: I only care about a few things: 17+ inch screen, GTX960M or better, no more than an inch thick, an SSD, weight, sound, 16GB of RAM, willing to spend no more than $1600 (price to specs ratio).
I was also thinking about an ASUS Zenbook Pro UX501JW/ Zenbook G501 ROG, but the 4K panel's poor reviews were deal-breakers (not willing to risk performance of the video card with 4K). Any suggestions/alternatives are welcome.
Thanks all!
