So I'm looking for a portable 15.6" notebook. I've got a killer desktop to run the heavy stuff when needed, but I need a laptop for portability. Battery life is a huge issue for me, but I'd be willing to sacrifice a bit if it means slightly smoother frames when playing sc2 on the go.

Any suggestions?

Solution
Neither choice is a good option for playing SC2.
(1) has a better graphics card but the CPU is weak and SC2 needs a strong CPU.
(2) has a better CPU but the graphics card is weak.
They will both play SC2 on low levels. Expect maybe an hour or 90 minutes of game play.

If they are the only 2 choices you have - take the Toshiba L755D
