Which processor is good AMD or I3?

I need a laptop for daily work mostly for study...want to use Linux and Latex .&..online scientific papers download..which processor is good for me..AMD or i3?

That depends on the specific AMD processor the i3 is competing against, generally if you're just into productivity I would suggest the i3, most AMD laptops are APU based which focus more on more cores, which each are not very fast, but the chip itself houses a decent graphics processor.

Light gaming = AMD CPU
Productivity and general web browsing = Intel i3
