Which upgrade to purchase?

Hey guys.

I was thinking about upgrading my laptop. I am using a SAGER NP8662. It runs Windows Vista 64.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M

RAM: 4GB DDR3


Links to which products would be the best upgrade would be much appreciated. This computer is almost exclusively used for gaming.

Your MXM 2.1 HE graphics slot would take a GTX 280M. It's only about a 10% improvement and I dont believe it's worth cost of upgrading.

How about more RAM? Or would I not notice a difference while gaming. I have heard more RAM would only help with programs such as Photoshop.

I don't favor upgrading the RAM. You'd have to take out the current 4GB to add 8GB back in. For a very small performance gain in some limited circumstances (like Photoshop with big images and many layers).

Hmm maybe I could overclock a bit. Out of the specs listed which do you think is holding me back the most?

It depends on the game, and the game graphics settings.
In general, it could be either the CPU (SIMs, RPGs, MMORGs) or GPU (FPS).

Get a copy of RIVAtuner and see if you can OC the GTX 260 a bit.
Be sure to monitor your system temps.
