Which usb port should i use???

i have a 7.1 headset and i am not sure about which usb port is better for them.
i have both 3.1 and 2.1 usb ports in my pc.
so i would like to know if there is any difference between them.

should use USB 3 as it has a faster transfer rate and supports simultaneous 2 way signals (can send and recieve at same time)
