White spots began appearing on my laptop case awhile ago.

Its a HP Pavilion Power 15, and I believe parts of it are made with aluminium. I searched online and apparently its caused by sweat from my arm, which i often put on the part that now has white spots. I have tried to use water with soap to no avail. Does anyone know if there is anything else i can try or if there is anyone else that has faced this problem?

Thanks for your time

Solution
Could be sweat (saltwater) related.

Here is a reference link that includes some "fixes".

Soaking is of course out of the question but perhaps aluminum polish may be a solution.

Caveat: I have no way to test or vet any other suggestions etc. that you find. Be very careful: liquids and laptops do not have a good history....

Three recommendations:

1) do more research on how you might restore the original look or at least improve the situation.

2) contact HP. They may or may not be able to help. Check the HP forums to see if there are any other similar complaints or problems.

3) Use a small cloth or sleeve of some sort to cover your arm. Inconvenient yes but there is much to say for...
