Solved! why cant i see the netflix movie on the tv when connected on my laptop

I've connected my laptop that has Netflix on it to the tv and when I play the movie it would only show it on the laptop not the tv.

im using HDMI cable laptop is a dell G7 15 and the tv is a Panasonic

Can you see your laptop' desktop on the TV?

You have to extend or duplicate your laptop screen to the TV, and tune TV to the correct HDMI input. Press <Win>-P, then choose "Duplicate".

On my HP laptop running Windows 7 Home 64 Bit, I just plug the HDMI cable into the laptop and into the HDMI port on the t.v. Then I go in the video input and scroll through the choices until my laptop screen is viewed on my t.v.

Another thing to check, when projecting full screen, certain gpu's are set to project full screen video to the main screen only by default regardless if it's extended or cloned. intel used to have a setting that would allow you to change that.

One thing you can do is project only to the TV when watching Netflix.
The other is finding that setting and changing it (if that's the cause)
