Why does my laptop crash when the mouse is still for too long?

If I don't move the mouse after a short time the whole laptop crashes, I can't move the mouse or esc and I have to turn it off and on again. (This is a new laptop)

If it is doing this and it is brand new, I would return it and have them give you a working device. No new device should give you problems.
