Solved! why does my sony handycam dcr-sr47 record and stops and records the whole time?i get a lot off 10 seconds moviese

when try to record it is in stby,when push the rec button,it records but then gives a stopping beep(than records back and stops) giving me a lot of 5 sec and 10 sec movies,what could be the problem

Ten years ago this was one of the best camcorders. Having a mechanical hard drive, it might be the problem. Time to move over.
