Why doesnt my laptop dvd player show up as an audio device anymore

Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite notebook with a buildt-in DVD/Blu-Ray drive. It used to show up as a selection for audio input/output, but has suddenly disappeared. Any suggestions for getting it back? Thanks for any help.

I have never seen a BD or any optical drive show under audio.

It should be under DVD/CD drives.

What is the system not doing?
