Why is battery saying 131 hours remaining?

Hi,

On my new Alienware 17 R2 Laptop I got this strange message saying that I have 131 hours of battery remaining. Why is it saying that? The laptop is new, does this mean that I got a faulty battery piece?

Try updating the BIOS and let me know what happens.

As I said, the laptop is new, the BIOS is already of the latest version

Just a Windows bug. I've had that happen to me before. Reboot the computer and report back.

Update: New computers don't generally ship with the latest BIOS - my Toshiba E55t-A5320 shipped with version 1.30 even though 1.50 was released 3 months before I bought it.

System Information (not "System" or PC info). If you can't find it, create an empty text file and name it "Access.nfo" and double click on it. There you can check the BIOS version.
