Hi All;

Just wondering why laptops don't come with RAM that's got ECC. I've checked
all the big name manufactures but none of the RAM they offer include ECC.
Although many workstations offer RAM with ECC. ?????

Thanx in advance

ECC is actually mainly targeting the world of servers because these
machines have large amounts of memory and want to retain the
correctness, it seems to tripple a bit into the home-PC world, but
notebooks are not intended to be servers at all, therefore ....
secondly it would make them even more expensive

I looked in the dictionary for "tripple" with no luck. Did you perhaps mean
"trickle"? If not, what did you mean to say?

Could have been "tipple" an old term usually meaning to drink alcohol to
excess. Could have been used here to imply that the great amount of memory
thing has moved over in a little memory excess to the home-PC world.
(Gamers want it, needs it, gots to have it, my precious....)
