Why wont my prius2007 regular fob lock or unlock the car

All of a sudden the key fob won't lock or unlock my car. It is a 2007 PRIUS and the remote is not a smart key, it is just a regular fob. I took it to the dealership, but they can't figure it out. THey want to run a $100 computer scan to see what it might be. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Do the doors still lock and unlock automatically when your inside? If they do then everything in the door should be alright. Then I'd look at the reciever to see if it's getting power. If that's getting power your receiver might be screwed. Now I have no Idea how to change it because it's not as simple as just slapping in a new one because most cars use a rolling or hopping code for better security. That means that the 40 bit code is randomly generated after each time the fob is used.
