Wide angle attachments.

I have a Nikon D3000 (a very basic DSLR) which I use with the kit lens (18-55mm) as well as the great Nikkor 35mm F1.8 lens.

I am in the market for a wide angle lens, but have read many places that wide-angle attachments (which are sooo much more affordable) are an option, too.

What wide angle attachment do you camera-experts recommend (and be compatible with my camera/lenses)? I travel a lot, and am looking for a lens that can capture large mountain ranges and narrow alleyways.

Generally the attachments optically are terrible (vignette, chromatic aberration, and lots of bad stuff!). Are you looking for a fisheye effect?

Since you have the 18-55 which is 27mm (35mm equiv. )at it's wide angle, you're looking for something like a Sigma 10-20mm or Tokina 11-16mm.

I'm not looking for a fish-eye effect, but I am okay with a little vignetting. Any suggestions for attachments?

Because this usually happens:

IMO stay away from them at all costs and buy a used wide angle lens.
