Hello guys,

I know this might be an annoying question to you guys.

One of my friend had got this laptop HP Pavilion 15 ac181nia from the middle east but the wifi won't work. The adapter isn't showing in the network and connections menu. I tried HP support page but seems like there's no model named HP Pavilion 15 ac181nia in their catalog.
Which drivers should I install? I tried a bunch of drivers that looked close but of no avail!

It has Win8 which was apparently installed by the vendor there but there's no Windows installation Disk and Drivers Disk with the laptop. I found this strange. Am I missing something on laptops from the middle east?

If the WiFi adapter is not listed in Device Manager, and there are no "unknown devices" (items with a question mark) in Device Manager either, it usually means the device has failed and is therefore not detected, so as far as Windows is concerned it effectively doesn't exist.

HP laptops were notorious for having WiFi adapter issues.

You can buy a USB WiFi adapter, some of them are now no bigger than a miniature pen drive so they don't stick out like a sore thumb.

Exactly my thoughts Philip on the USB WiFi adapter, but there are few "Unknown devices" in the Device Manager one of them is Network Controller ... It's strange..
I have a doubt what if I install windows 7 in the machine? Will it detect the card? seems like windows 8 is the problem here.
