The Beyerdynamic headphones are 250ohms and I was looking at the Topping TP30 Amp/DAC and I'm trying to find out if this amp can power a set of 250ohm headphones. Both the headphones and amp/DAC come very highly recommended and are very affordable. I have little experience in headphone amps and exterior DACs and I would like some basic information about choosing an amp capable of driving these headphones.

Thank you, any advice would be very much appreciated.

Solution
apparently the tp30 is only rated to a maximum of 200ohm
3.5 mm headphone output for headphone impedance 16 to 200 ohms

would it drive those headphones? "maybe"
i would suggest something else though...

perhaps the shiit magni amplifier http://www.amazon.com/Schiit-SCH-07-Magni-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B00CICPMA6 for $99
its only an amplifier though not a dac. for an additional $110 you can get the shiit mogi dac which pairs up nice http://www.amazon.com/Modi-USB-Digital-Analog-Convertor/dp/B00CICPN0K

or you could get a soundcard for your computer if this is what you plan on using to drive them...

or perhaps look into some fiio products. while lower end than others you might be able to get something a bit cheaper.
