Connecting USB speakers to high def Sony tv?

I have a brand new Sony 43 inch HD TV , xbr 800. Also have Bose companion 5 computer speakers and sub which only has a USB connection. Is there a way to connect to the tv, is there such a thing as toslink to USB or hdmi to USB output to the Bose speakers?

Solution
You can't connect USB speakers to a TV even if it has a USB port. TVs don't have drivers to do that.
There are no adapters to do this since it's not just a connection issue. The best you can do is to use the rear hybrid headphone jack to connect to the aux input on the Bose. You may only get 2.1 sound.

Hello americanaudiophile,

Thank you for the quick response. A further question related question. There were no drivers to required to run the Bose. So, would this make a difference? And, seeing as the new Sony TV basically has an Android device/computer in it running the "Smart TV, is there a possibility the Bose speakers would work if connected by USB, or HDMI?
