[citation][nom]Enzo Matrix[/nom]C'mon Tom's. Do I seriously have to start going to regular news sites to get tech news you guys don't have?http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/st [...] -sale.html^Pretty fracking big deal right there^[/citation]
No, not at all. What you do need to do, however, is read our websites more carefully! ;)

Please direct your attention to this news piece that was posted 7 hours prior to this one on which you are commenting:
http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Skype-VoIP-Windows-Live-Lync-online-WP7,news-11119.html

We then followed up on that report with the official announcement that came from Microsoft just 12 hours later:
http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Microsoft-Skype-Acquisition-Deal-Sale-Kinect,news-11131.html

So, two reports on the Microsoft/Skype deal within 13 hours.
^I think we're pretty frakking on top of things here^

web os only one part of the internet.

anyone with a smart phone is using it more as a really portable laptop than a phone.

try sending a 100mb file to someone, downloading a video (i suggest invisible walls from gametrailers, i have gotten 4mb a second from that line of video should be a perfect thing to test)

a webpage should be fully downloaded in less than 3 seconds even on the slowest internet i deam acceptable. for a phone, it can take 5 seconds for a fully downloaded website to load completely,

What the American telecoms claim to be 4G is such a sham. I have to watch FOX for some shows in Canada and their AT&T/T-Mobile "4G" advertisement is a joke.

Maybe this is the mentality that led to North America having the worst internet/cellular infrastructure in the developed world. Had it been Europe/Japan, this would not have passed.

I happen to live in SK and have been here for awhile now. "4G" is accessible across the country in all the city's so I can really see the need for this out here. Seriously you guys in the USA are getting screwed over on both your phones and your internet.

100Mbps internet connection in SK is about 33,000 KRW per month. That works out to about 31~32 USD a month. They had "3G" style video phones being common back in 2005 with them being standardized in 2006.
