Win 7 Toshiba laptop Shut down issue

I have seen many with this same issue and little actual working ideas. People don't seem to understand why for the most part.

My laptop started having issues just shutting down all the way and would just hang trying to shutdown. There are no updates going cause it compounds the issue. Im thinking maybe the hard drive is starting to fail due to age and general abuse.

Wondering if any one knows a solid answer for this problem. And a good hard drive test tool.

Look at event viewer. Find the shutdown process, and then track events after that. Usually a driver or process hanging that causes this.

Found errors in log from bloat ware and CAPI2, removing bloatware and scanning. Will bring computer up and down a few times to see if I cleared issue.

CAPI2 error is internet cert issue I will take care of next time online.

No heat issue. Used built in health monitor.
