Windows 10 Update

So while I was waiting I was looking for something else and I clicked on the start button and then all programs and at the top of the list it says Microsoft Update and when I clicked on that a window pops up and said Welcome to Windows 8...so is that the system I have and if not how do I find out what I have . The little sticker in the corner of the laptop saysWindows XP???
