I noticed that Asus has a netbook that uses the MeeGo operating system. When I read about that OS, it seemed that it was similar to the Windows 7 Phone Operating System. If netbooks use chipsets that are take-offs on phone chipsets, I was curious if the Windows 7 Phone operating system was ever set up onto a netbook. It seems like it might be ideal as a cost and power efficient setup to use with Windows Live and Windows Office Live; a Microsoft variation on the Chromebook.

Hello Brian_970;

I always thought the MeeGo User Interface was a near clone of the Android UI

Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

And not the Windows 7.5 (Mango) Metro UI

Windows 8 is also going to have the Metro UI and will be 'touchscreen & tablet friendly'
