WInZip problem!

Ok, I was downloading a file from Texas Instruments, and after downloading I accidentally archived the file in WinZip, and I can't open the file now. I tried to fix this by downloading the file from the internet again and it downloaded the file but it read it as a winzip file even as I downloaded it so that then the copy was unable to be transferred/opened and sent to a TI 89 calculator! I have tried the CD version of the file and the same problem appears. Do I have to uninstall and delete all winzip files to get the file to open?

... actually I just uninstalled win Rar (not win zip sorry) and the same problem exists except you don't get the book icon which means it is a winrar file, but a blank page icon now >.<. I do have a clue though, I tried sending it through the Ti software to the Ti89 and it showed the destination as Archive... So how do I access this archive and delete it so that it won't show up there again?

if any moderators are out there you can close this thread I've figured out the problem, I just needed to mess around with it a little more...

Windows 7 doesn't need a program for .ZIP. I didn't.

No, get 7zip. It's free and you can create self extracting option too for free.
