Wireless button not working - can I connect anyway?

Laptop lost wireless connection. \message on screen is puch wireless button for connection. \i can find no wireless button. Help!

go to device manager and enable your wireless card

What kind of laptop? Some have function keys for that and some have little slide switches that can be hard to find, but easy to accidentally switch off.
