Wireless Connection on my old Compaq Laptop

I have an old Compaq NC8430 laptop. It previously had Windows 2000 on it and it connected to my wireless router with no issues.

I formatted it and installed Windows XP on it and now it doesn't seem to be able to even show me that it has a wireless card in it. When I go to Network Connections it just shows the 1394 Connection which is the wired one, but I know it has wireless capability as well.

How can I get it to show up so I can connect to the Internet? I have no installation CDs or anything as this laptop is quite old. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Download the drivers here for XP: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdHome/?sp4ts.oid=1839197&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3DswEnvOID%253D1098%257CswLang%253D%257Caction%253DlistDriver&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

And put them on a flash drive to move them over to the laptop. However I can't recommend anyone to actually use Windows XP as Microsoft is no longer supporting it, so therefore your information may be unsafe, but if you choose to use it I cannot stop you.

Thanks so much! I'll give this a try. And yes, I know that Microsoft doesn't support XP any more but this is an old laptop I just use to play around on. It's not a catastrophe if something bad happens to it or anything on it.
