How did this guy get popped and like the rest of the world goes on about life. There are tone of places to get movies if you want so why did he get caught?

So what CRIME did this man commit? If I get 40 lobbyists to get a bill passed to say its illegal to fart, do people who fart now become "Criminals"?

This man did nothing more the push electricty down a copper wire. We are getting way out of control with the laws. Keep backing them on this crap people and you will all soon find everything you do illegal just waiting for someone to use it against you.

In a true free market YOU the producer do NOT get to determine the value of your product, the MARKET does. From years of forced value the MARKET has determined that this crap is worth 0; thats why many people refuse to pay. This is what happens when you try to control markets, the Black market will always determine the real price. Simple Austrian School Of Thought people.

Back off the WOW and read some Ludwig Von Mises.

it doesn't matter if you idiots think the movie sucked with your bad taste in anything. the fact is the movie caused damages because it released an unfinished movie that gave away the story of a movie they planned on releasing

do you think lord of the rings would have done as good as it did if someone released an unfinished version of that all over the net? or if someone was able to do this kind of thing before the empire strikes back giving away the shocking part of finding out Vader was Luke's father?

this guys is just saying anything to try to win the case just like any of you losers would do in his position

Dummies, they're lucky they got 85 million the first weekend. That's more than what Avatar took in, at 73 mil. The leak probably pushed it, then the movie killed it. Because after the first week it declined big time. Because the movie sucked Adamantium balls.

[citation][nom]BadTrip[/nom]The crysis comments are getting really old.[/citation]

Nah, cuz most things still can't run Crysis

[citation][nom]shamgar[/nom]HAHHAHAHA CRYSIS JOAKES WILL BE TOALD 4EVARRRRRRRRR!!!!! BUT CAN ______ CRYSIS/!!?!??! HHAHAHAI DONT USE CAPS LOCK I HOLD SHIFT LYKE TEH REAL PROS DO[/citation]

The game sucks anyway. Learn to spell.

Well, basically, yes. That's the principle of the law. Would it be wrong? No, it would not (unless your farts are very nasty). But, then again, law is not really about good and evil.

Speaking of Avatar I hope it tanks. Who the hell spends $350 million to create a movie including advertising? Directors and overpaid actors should be shot and hung for having movie tickets go from $2.50 to $12+ around in in less than 12 years.

The movie still made profits so there was NO damages. Where is the proof of damages?

There is also these things out there called books and many of us had read Lord of The Rings long before it was released. We knew the story and saw it anyway.

Once again a lesson in economics guys. Just because you invest 1 Million Dollars into a project does NOT make it worth 1 Million Dollars. The market determines its worth. Idiots thinking there is no risk in investment is the reason why our market is in the condition it is in.

WTF? That is not the principle of Law. Law is to set right and wrong within society. However we now live in a society with so many lawyers that in order to keep these paracites feed they have to justify their existance by creating more and more pointless laws.

This is yet another joke of "the system" really if they want to send a message they need to have punishment that fits the crime, made available doesn't equate to distributed; It's high time that these types of cases should go to misdemeanor charges and realistic fines of $2000-10000. As for downloading, cost of item.

Oh, and the (final version of the) movie sucked.
Eventually, I will boycott movies and go back to reading books; but then again I'm just sticking it to one man, and giving to another.
Though I really cut down on my theater visits once I started reading movie reviews from Rotten Tomatoes.

Maybe studios should set up PayPal for donations from pirates who actually liked a movie that they viewed.

[citation][nom]shamgar[/nom]guess he should have just played crysis insead. but can he crysis!?!?!?!?[/citation]
I wished I could thumb you down one more time, but it seems 20 times is really the max on this forum!

If it wasn't for that upload, i wouldn't of went to the cinema to see it (because Xmen 3 failed) and i wouldn't of bought it on DVD. Its bullshit, i download films to see if they're worth going to the cinema too watch them, and an uploaded xmen with no effects made me want to see it in the cinema even more. In this particular case, it helped them gain money, so quit your bitching.

I would be happy if every action film went to torrent with no effects, then i can decipher whats worth seeing in the cinema.

what's with all the crysis jokes? that is so passe. I mean that game is pretty damn old by now. why not go back further in time and ask "will this run on my 486?" a la Halflife 2. But pushing foreward, what do these video games at all have to do with a hollywood film that has nothing at all to do with slaughter of Koreans? oh wait..he said he bought the movie from a Korean (???) if that makes any sense. He didn't say he bought it from a North Korean Military officer that was brandishing an AK47, now did he? come on guys make a little sense before you click on the "Submit my comment" button.

This isn't a lawsuit, it's a criminal prosecution under the DMCA.

Maybe this guy'll appeal this to the USSC and finally get that horrible pile of corporate-purchased garbage stricken.

This is my comment.First off look at what he is facing for time & fine.

1,In 1987 I was busted for Cocaine Trafficking and in 1988 I was sentenced and this is what I got for 1/8 ounce of Coke sale.
18months in Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary
6 years of Federal Supervised Release
$3600.00 fine

Now look again at this poor guy and what he is facing.I sold driugs and was a junkie.Who knows not even me how many lives I may have hurt by what I was doing to support my bad lifestyle. You would think that I would be the one facing what he is facing and I should of gotten a much bigger sentence/fine.

Now for the bottom line for me.I HATE MPAA &RIAA & HOLLYWOOD.
I buy no new films from them only used ones.
I refuse to buy blu-ray when it costs only pennies difference to make them yet they charge us a lot more than a DVD.THEY ARE RIPPING US OFF THERE ~!!!
I only support the Indies.
I wish that millionsof folks would wake up and not give these assholes any of your money.

[citation][nom]sliem[/nom]sympathize? why? he's an idiot.Bought the game for five bucks = goodUpload to public site = what the fuck were you thinking?Go to jail, do not collect $2000.In the jail you shall remain until a player rolls a 6 or 12.[/citation]
Actually, he bought the MOVIE for $5. Also, I don't know what screwed up game of Monopoly you're playing, but when you pass "Go" you collect $200.

He distributed a movie illegally, whether it sucked or not is ridiculous. He should be busted, though I think the fine should be realistic. But the law is the law and that is what a judge is going to rule on. It isn't about common sense. It is about the law. So he is screwed.

[citation][nom]shamgar[/nom]HAHHAHAHA CRYSIS JOAKES WILL BE TOALD 4EVARRRRRRRRR!!!!! BUT CAN ______ CRYSIS/!!?!??! HHAHAHAI DONT USE CAPS LOCK I HOLD SHIFT LYKE TEH REAL PROS DO[/citation]
