Because it has become racist to say black people, mexicans, etc... White people are perfectly fine being called white. We don't consider that racist, it's the color of our skin, nothing else.

The stats for men are only as high as they are due to guys responding to their wives and girlfriends, otherwise it would probably be much lower.

+ 1000 :)

Honkeys like myself really don't have too much to say. We don't like on the phone drama and communication is normally done in person or through email. It is unfortunate that so many people feel the need to jabber on like a monkey in a tree when what they have to say is often mind numbing asinine ridiculousness. Say Less, Listen More you might just learn something. :)

I take offense to that, my skin is not white it's really light yellow brown mix!
Saying white people is just as racist as saying black people.

I prefer the term Caucasoid, it has such a nice ring to it.

yea lets see the people out working using the fewest minutes.
we also get to pay for the low income reduced phone rates.
WOW its win win for anyone who doesn't work

People, the study wasn't about race/ethnicity and phone habits. It was probably a survey about phone habits, with details attached. Then after the survey, a pattern emerged. That's how real science works. Collect a lot of data and then see the pattern, rather than trying to find data to fit the pattern.

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm sure that the study did not say "white people" either.

I never got how people got so hung up about the black and white tag. It's a color and some people have black skin, some white. I would like to think we are past the point where by describing someone's skin color we automatically infer social status, ability or privileges.
It so happens that people with a black skin spend more time on the cell phone. That's neither here nor there. It's just a statistic.

I do not umderstand the actual point of this study. When u perform research for statistical purposes you usually begin with a question or problem you would like to have answered. I just don't get what problem they are trying to solve. All this study accomplished was drawing more stereotypes, increasing racism, and maintaining divisions within society. In my opinion it is trivial, manipulative, worthless information that only further handicap our country into believing in race. Hopefully, not too much faith is put into this. And we continue to work on more important issues such as decreasing cancer rates, finding cures for incurable viral diseases such as HIV, erradicating some other diseases, reducing global warming and maintaing a strong economy. The conclusions drawn from this study are a considerable waste compared to the more imperative issues. Btw...I am a young black woman and I speak when necessary, and when necessary I will make sure I cover all grounds. 😉 According to this study, AA wmn are the most, in the authors words, "chatty". How absurd!!
