WSJ: Next iPhone to Have 'At Least' a 4-inch Display

Until they stop using multiple panel vendors I won't consider buying one. It's bad enough now that the LG iPad 3rd gen screens look dull and bluish compared to the Samsung iPad 3rd gen screens. Seriously they are night and day different. Problem is you can't tell until you buy one. It's not like they write the panel vendor on the box, let alone what company built it. (Foxconn, Pegatron....)

Now the rumour is 3 vendors? F-that. Chances would be 2 in 3 I wouldn't even get the same screen as a website reviewed.

Larger screen ? Why not use the iPad as a phone and be done with it. 🙂

It's kinda funny, first we had these big bricks as 'mobile phones'. That things got smaller and smaller. Now we are slowly going back to the brick design; just with more computing power in them.

4.5 seems right. I agree that apple needs to put out a bigger device, when I had me palm pre it looked small compared to a iphone 4gs... now my 4.65" nexus dwarfs it and with a 720p resolution even hardcore apple fanatics who see my watching movies are impressed. I will say once you sgo bigger with liek the note I think you ar ein a different catagory. I'm not a small guy at 6' 220lb and I liek to keep my phone in my pocket. with my nexus and otterbox case to keep the phone safe I am bordering on the size this wouldn't be an option anymore without wearing cargo pants and keeping the phone in the larger side pockets but then i might not feel it when vibrating on silent... I could get one of those belt cips but those look pretty tacky imo I think the 4.5ish size is a good place fo rthe market to settle barring some fasion trend where we have a new peice of clothing whose sole purpose is holding a phone (though see above about tacky belt clips)

Bigger is not always better... I got an iPhone because I don't want to carry a tablet computer around in my pocket. 4" or maybe a bit larger would be OK but I'm not a fan of the huge phones that are coming out now, hopefully Apple doesn't just automatically jump on the bandwagon.

I like Android better... but I think Apple got it right! No point on having a 4.7" screen, 4" is just fine fpr a cellphone, all I want is higher resolution, faster interface and mult-task... bad thing is, I don't think they will ever come back from 4.7" and Im not geting an IPhone! Just hope they don't jump to 5" or bigger screens ;p
