I have an Acer computer. 400GB Sata haard disk. 2 GB Memoy. E4400 intel core-2 processor. Windows Vista. It is almost full and I want to get another hard drive. I was told could not put in to large a drive. How many GB's can I put in.
Also were do I purchse one from Acer?

you can easily put in a 1000 GBs hard disk. That is 1 TB. you can purchase any brand 2.5" from your local electronics store or from the internet.

When they said large drive, then mean the physical dimension. You will need a 2.5" 9.5mm HDD.

nhasian, the 1TB 2.5" drives as of now are 12.5mm height and too big to fit in most laptop.

Sorry, my mistake. It is for a Desk top computer.

I did get a hod of cer, after 2 tries. They said I could put in a 1 TB, but needed to add another 4GB Ram. They did not say what size (diminsions) to get.

If you're adding a second drive as extra storage, you can go as high in capacity as you wish to spend on. Desktop HDDs go up to 3 TB today. Plug it in and format it in Windows.
