Good afternoon,
I bought a Samsung plasma 50 in.ch. TV from Circuit City at Stevens Creek San Jose, California, on 03/05./08 , is not working now. The audio is fine but on video.I bought protection plan on the TV. Best regards ,Victor Chua.

Sometimes the fact that warranty is provided by a 3rd party is good. Although Circuit City is pretty much dead, because extended warranties are usually provided by some-one else, this helps you.

Usually what happens though is that the store that sold you the TV is just fine but the warranty company went under.

Absolutely true. Most companies that sell extended warranties do underwrite them through a third party good examples :

Ultimate Electronics
Circuit City
CompUSA

All 3 went under, all 3 are still covered!
