The internal flash is very likely faster and more reliable than what you find in a cheap USB stick. It has to be, it must stand up to constant access over the life of the console - it stores the OS. It's also not easily replaced. If a USB stick goes bad, toss it and get a new one. Not so for internal flash.

So, for non-mission-critical data you can just add a 16GB USB stick or get a HDD for it. But all your saved games, the OS, etc, they go on the internal storage - and 4GB is plenty for that. You have to admit, $199 isn't bad when you look at it side by side with the Wii. It would be a great secondary console, for streaming media or for the kids.

Actually, the Kinect bundle would be good for kids too. $300 for the console and the Kinect unit. Plus you don't need to buy extra Wii/Motionmotes, Nunchuk/Navigationtrollers, etc.
