One thing you forget to factor in with the cost of xbox series x would be a new TV...This is one thing lots of people tend to forget when factoring cost of gaming PC vs console gaming...new gen consoles is around every 7 years so you'd be assumably buying a new console approx. $500 and new TV as that is most likely out of date as well...for instance PS5/XSX you should have a TV with HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM, etc. Very few TVs currently have that, the cheapest of which is $1000. Bringing the cost up to $1500 while yes still less then a good mid range gaming PC, most people these days are also using their computers for more than gaming and with a lot of industries going work from home you can bet that a lot of people are also using a PC for work purposes, so if say the person must at minimum have a cheap computer for work they spend around $500 for a cheap PC that will last 2 years (once the warranty is up it'll die lol). Lots of factors that when you break them down to the nitty gritty they basically come down to the same cost.
