I just bought an XPS 12 off of eBay, and immediately put Windows 10 on it. Soon after the install, the laptop started turning itself off when running on battery power. My first instinct was that the battery was damaged. I no longer think that's the case, because it will stay on in the BIOS as long as the battery has power and I ran diagnostics that said the battery's health was at 97%. At this point, I'm stuck. The only thing I know to do is install Ubuntu and see if the issue persists. Any information or advise would be great, thanks.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First, do uninstall/reinstall the "microsoft acpi-compliant control method battery" from Device Manager.
- If the same problem will persist after uninstalling/reinstalling the battery driver proceed with doing a battery calibration.
- Here's how: http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-2342991/calibrate-battery-windows-laptops.html
- If calibrating the battery will still not help then the problem lies in the battery itself unfortunately.

I'll certainly do that, but I'm still a little confused about why the issue doesn't happen in the BIOS. It just doesn't make sense to me for a battery to function perfectly in BIOS if it's damaged.
