Y-Splitter for Power Adapter!

Hi Everyone,

I still use my old iPAQ H3670, incl. the Dual Sleeve a lot. My problem is,
that I had a "Y-Splitter" for the power adapter to connect, charge and
operate the iPAQ and the Dual Sleeve at the same time.

Well, this Y-Splitter disappeared and I searched Google and Yahoo, but
nothing comes up with this kind of splitter.

Can someone please point me in the right direction ( i.e. web address,
store, etc ) ?

Thank you.

anyone with soldering skills should be able to make one up in a few
minutes from an existing supply and an appropriate connector... might
ask for help at your local Radio Shack, plus they have the solderable plugs

Polarity _is_ important ;-/

I thought the Y-adapter really wasn't needed, at least from what I remember
when I had a 3630 and a PCCard sleeve. The sleeve battery will charge through
the iPAQ in the cradle or if the iPAQ is connected directly to the charger...

Yes Al that's correct. I used to plug the charger into either of the two and
both still charged.

Yep that's how my 3630 and 3870 operate with the dual pcmcia extended
battery sleeve.

Thanks all for the reply. Yes, I am aware that either the iPAQ or the Dual
Sleeve get charged by only plugging the power adapter into one of the both.

But first, if charged separately with the Y-Splitter, it takes a much
shorter time to recharge both devices. Secondly, since I am using a 5 GIG
PCMCIA drive and a GPS receiver in the Dual Sleeve, it draws pretty good
mA's so I do need to recharge fast, especially if I am out in the "boonies"
!

I do know, that such a Power Y-Splitter exists. I ordered one 3 years ago,
but do not have anymore the info on where I placed the order.

I would appreciate, if someone could get me to a web site, where I can order
on of them. ( PS: I am not to good with soldering stuff ! :) )

Thank you !

Tom

I have one of these which I use to power an iPAQ and a BT GPS (same 2-Pole
connector)

Hi,

thanks for the reply. ( getting closer )

Yeah, that's basically what I need. But I'd like to be able to use it with
my existing car charger as well as with the AC Adapter. That's why this
little Y-Splitter I had was so convenient, I could use it with both. ( but
with two kids in the house, stuff gets lost sometimes! :)

So, I am still looking and searching for this little Y-Adapter, but so far
no luck. I believe, I ordered this splitter about 3 years ago from Compaq,
but so far, I could not find anything on the HP web site.

Thanks again.

Tom
