Man its almost depressing that the first post is spam.

on topic: this kind of alarm has been around a very very long time. Starting quiet and then getting louder and louder has the same effect.

It's actually not the same. Amplifying a signal is different than adding higher frequencies to a signal. Whether it has a real world difference waking people up more gently, who knows. But a low hum is easier on the ears than a high pitch buzz.

true vindex... but for 4 bills you could buy a cheap laptop and program it fo rthe same... with the added benefit of having other uses beyond alarm clock
