Year Inspiron 4000 released

For some reason I have the idea that DELL introduced the Inspiron 4000 before the Inspiron 1000. Am I correct?

I know that the 3k series was introduced sometime in 2004-2005 ish. I do believe that you are correct though, as the 1K series was some what recent in the sense that my old man bought one in 2008.
