Yes or No to Laser tv's?

I'm looking for my first 4k, first projector tv to mount in my basement as the main home theater tv. I would like 4k. Most of what I read says that 4k mounted tv's actually are in 4k and 4k projectors (unless you get crazy expensive) use tricks to make the image sort of 4k. I am seeing more and more projector tv's that are laser now. Any opinions on them? I just read up about an LG that is in a sort of tall box with a retractable cord internal and I recently also read about one from a company I haven't heard of before, Hisense? Are laser tv's a group of their own, different from the traditional lcd/led projector family?

Is there a way to tell when it is ACTUALLY 4k instead of 4k 'with tricks'? Does NATIVE mean ACTUALLY?
