I have a Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 that is having issues with the GPU (I believe)
When I start it up, the bios screen displays usually for a few seconds then it displays a screen full of very thin horizontal colored lines and more often what resembles colored snow (like old TV's)
It does the same with an ext monitor.
I assume it is a GPU issue but doesn't appear to be a thermal issue.
I have it opened up and the heat sink is not even warm when it does this.
I already tried new RAM.
At one point I got it to display OK for about 10 minutes after doing the bios battery disconnect/ hold power button down trick. I could not get it to do that again
I am thinking it needs a new motherboard but before taking that chance, I wanted to check if there cold be anything else that could cause this.
I was thinking of booting up from a bootable thumb drive to see if it is Windows related or video driver related.
If I need a mobo, any tips on where to get one at a decent price?
I haven't had much luck with China boards.
